Horseshoes have always been associated with good luck, particularly at weddings.
Lucky Omen Origin - Iron is considered lucky as it is born from the marriage of rock and fire. In ancient times Blacksmiths were alchemical masters of the elements and their by-products, their products were believed to possess supernatural powers. A 10th Century Archbishop of Canterbury was said to have foiled Satan because of the positive power of the horseshoe when the Archbishop disguised himself as a horse. In addition the basic shape of the horseshoe is traditionally said to be lucky and goes back to pre-Christian times. The supernatural powers were associated with the shape of the crescent moon, which was thought to enhance fertility.
This handmade gift comes in a white card box 160mm x 160mm x 50mm Each horseshoe is a genuinely used individual shoe and will vary from the one photographed
