If you had one of those hoops bolted to the back wall when you were younger you'll remember how easy it is to wile away several hours trying to beat your rival or even your own record. If you fancy a return to those carefree teenage days but want something a bit more grown-up – not to mention sturdier and better quality – than a cheapo hoop with a wall bracket the Powerplay Basketball Set is the answer to your prayers. This freestanding full-size basketball hoop is designed for indoor or outdoor use and has an all-weather net to cope with the British climate. The Powerplay has a set of wheels on the base for easy portability ideal for switching between indoor and outdoor use; after all it might be able to withstand snow and rain but that doesn't mean you have to. However if you've got a permanent spot in mind for it the base can be filled with builder's sand (available from DIY stores) or water for a strong steady foundation. The Powerplay's 43” impact resistant acrylic backboard has a steel rim and is virtually indestructible. It's also easily height adjustable between 2 and 2.8 metres so it doesn't matter if height-wise you're more suited to being a jockey than a basketball player.
