What is the Maple Syrup / Lemon Diet?
Beyonce Knowles gave the Maple Syrup Diet star billing when she said: ''I lived on water, cayenne pepper and maple syrup for 14 days'', referring to her weight loss of 22 pounds in just 2 weeks for her new film Dreamgirls. It's a liquid diet regime based on a 100% natural drink made from a special organic tree syrup, mixed with fresh lemon juice, water and just a pinch of cayenne pepper.
The Madal Bal Natural Tree Syrup, used in the lemon detox is a blend of maple and palm tree syrups designed to provide a balance of minerals and trace elements. The fresh lemon juice provides vitamin C and potassium, and helps to dissolve mucus and waste. The cayenne pepper adds a zing to the flavour, as well as a stimulatory heating effect, which speeds the metabolism, cleansing and elimination.
The Detox Drink
To make one glass of Natural Tree Syrup and Lemon Drink take
Two small tablespoons (or 20 ml) of Madal Bal Natural Tree Syrup. Two tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice (about half a lemon). Half a pinch of cayenne pepper or ginger (adjust to taste). Mix the ingredients and dilute with half a pint of hot or cold water. Drink as much as you like, ideally 6 to 9 glasses a day. If you prefer you can prepare one batch of Natural Tree Syrup and Lemon Drink to last for the whole day. For 1½ litre of water (approx. 7 glasses) you will need 140ml of Madal Bal Natural Tree Syrup and 3½ lemons as well as the cayenne pepper or ginger.

I opted for the ten-day plan. I felt a bit light-headed on day two and had a slight headache. No one could have prepared for my findings when I got on the scale the morning of day two. I had lost 5 lbs.! By day four I was feeling on top of the world. By day 10 I had lost 1 stone. I have lived through Christmas and the New Year and not gained an ounce back.

half a stone off in 5 days. im going to rest over the weekend and go out drinking and eat normal foods (YUM). then I will start again monday. i would rate the weight loss as a 5 but the easiness of the diet as a 4.

Great. It is very hard, but i have baby weight to lose. I weighed 135 and now it is day 5 and i weigh 125. I have lost 10 lbs. in 5 days. I am going to stick w/ it until i weigh 120.
