Bolton Review 2006/7. This season cemented Bolton's stature as a European chasing Premiership power. The most consistent league side outside the big four was again in evidence as the club qualified for only its second season of European football. As well as the return to the European stage, the club also bid a fond farewell to two Bolton legends. Jay-Jay Okocha bid farewell to the fans, a great player and folk hero decided to see out his career abroad. As well as Jay-Jay, the club parted company with Sam Allardyce as manager, Big Sam deciding to leave the club after eight years at the helm.It was a shock announcement, but the swift appointment of Sammy Lee as the new manager showed that the club had a vision and a plan, as they stepped into a new era under a new boss.Relive every game of this great campaign, and enjoy highlights from this season's end of year awards, with exclusive footage from the evening. |
